You'll probably remember this big boy as the "baby" that was on my blog header for so long. He's still such a cutie and is joined here by his cousins for their annual Christmas photo. This year they added a "plus 1" with a new baby boy. He fits in well as a cutie himself with his adorable cousins.

So you can imagine when I saw this little girl in her cute as pie tutu and hat I nearly flipped a photogrpahy wig! You'll have to excuse my excessive shutterbug, but it was pink and zebra striped ribbon for Pete's sake. And converse shoes. And those eyes. Those big brown eyes. . .
The rest of the family wasn't half bad either. I don't know about them, but I had a great time!
I've never been a pageant girl, but if I were a betting person I would bet that this is pageant season. The close ups from my last post were for an upcoming pageant and today's post is for a not so little girl's pageant of her own. So I'm just putting 2 and 2 together here and getting . . . pageant season. I know. I'm a rocket scientist.
This is yet another one of those "kids" who is no longer a "little kid." Urghhhh . Dang that keeps happening. Chad and I enjoyed playing "house" a couple of times every year early in our marriage when we would keep she and her brother. She was about 4 and her brother just a baby. For my Chipley friends, remember the "mini me's" we brought to church? So I say again, urghhhh!
She was a good sport Saturday and helped me chase kids for my Christmas mini shoots. She was awesome and I think I'll have to keep her! Of course, shooting a teenager is a no brainer after toddlers so it was a nice change of pace.

Thanks to all the families that came out for the Christmas minis today. It was an absolutely beautiful day to spend outdoors taking photos of some beautiful kids. To top that, I might actually have a few blog posts coming your way. Miracles. I know.
This one shot in particular though I was not too happy with since she is supposed to be a little girl still. Her dad wasn't crazy about it either. His exact comment was, "You can delete that one." We wish it was just that easy to freeze time. We wish.
Unfortunately, all the kids are careening into teenagehood at breakneck speed while we dig our claws into our own youth. I think we are loosing and they are winning!

The thing about working at a high school is that you get all attached to these kids and they all eventually leave you! Well, we hope they do anyway.
I was attached to this beauty long before I actually became a teacher. She is a Ladycat and I've followed her around at my dad's basketball games for years. In that time she has gone to to the final four as a member of the Ladycats basketball team and won two gold medals at the Florida state track meet. So that bling you see below, that's not just the kind you buy. It's the kind you earn. The kind that fifteen years later you will still be proud to hold. I know, I have one just like it.
It's no wonder that colleges all over the country are vying for her talent, and no doubt that we'll soon be waving bye bye to this talented young lady as she enbarks on a big new world. My little punkins and I will miss our "Moose."

Why is it that all the kids in our familoy keep growing up and I don't get a day older! :-) Isn't she beautiful?
This one isn't mine, but isn't he a cutie? My aunt is a new grandma and her grandbaby was down for the holiday so I had to get a few shots of course. More blue eyes. I wonder if they will stay such a dark blue. My baby has the same eyes and I can't wait to find out.
Don't ask. I have no idea how he got this big so fast. I'm packing up outgrown clothes right and left and trying not to shed too many tears in the process. He was 15 pounds a week ago and he's been gaining almost a pound a week, so I'm afraid to even see if he's reached 16 pounds already. Oh my Lord!
The upside is that he's sleeping 8-9 hours at night and is so much fun to play with. He laughs and giggles and tries to copy whatever face you make at him. Soooo cute!
And what were the other two boys doing while I took these photos?
I did manage one photo with the big kid despite the fact that he wanted NOTHING to do with it. I can't imagine why.
Just when you thought I surely fell off the face of the earth, you'll be surprised to see that I actually have new photos to show you!
I was blessed to photograph a beautiful 50th wedding anniversary party last Saturday. Anniversary celebrations always make me more teary eyed than weddings. I mean, anyone can get married, but how many can say they stayed married for 50 years? It's truly an amazing feat, especially for this day and time.
The anniversary couple were beautiful and they were surrounded with family and friends, all reminiscing with 50 years of stories to tell. Thanks for inviting me to be a fly on the wall at your special day!
