I'm afraid you may see a lot of this around here. Photos of my baby that is. Every day that I don't take photos I end in regret and thinking stupid thoughts like this: "He'll never be seven days old again and I didn't take a photo." Sometimes there's even a tear. Hormones. There's no accounting for them.
So feel free to ignore, but there will be lots and lots of photos as long as he continues to let me get sleep! We'll call this set "The Ones with the Red Polka Dots . . . 7 days old."
I only have a second, but I wanted to let you know we have a new baby boy born Friday, June 26 . . . 8 lbs, 11 oz, 21 inches, born at 3:58 p.m.
We're doing great. I had to take a moment to post a few photos of our new little John Cade. His name is very special to us, but that's a post for another day. For now, a few photos that yes, I took not too long after delivery. Let's just say that an epidural is a wonderful thing!
Technology is just amazing. Imagine, seeing your baby in utero this clearly. Who would have ever thought?
I don't know for sure, but he looks a bit like his brother to me. Which means of course if it's true, I'll have another mini me of my husband running around the house. How exactly I can carry a child for 9 months and it comes out looking JUST LIKE his daddy I'll never understand. :-)
So when I'm shooting your kids and feel the need to apologize because you think they aren't "behaving" the way you would like them to. Just remember, I have a three year old. A very, very active three year old who does not really care for having his photo taken these days. And when I take him for a photo shoot he soooo puts me through the paces that I come back with an injured back, barely able to walk and photos that look something like this. No worries.
While the girls from yesterday were at the pageant, I decided to save all the parents from the misery of me trying to drag a three year old BOY to such an event. Trust me, dress up he would not appreciate. Instead, the big girls' baby sister hung out with us for a playdate. They came up with their own form of dress up.
One of my best friends since high school has four girls. Yes, I said four. I know, you can see the drama coming at their house in a few years! For today, they are still all little girls who love to play dress up and a few weeks ago the two oldest were beauty queens for the day. Here's a few shots we snapped between rainstorms on their way to the pageant. I absolutely love the black and white shots for these for some reason.
This was one of those shoots where you really couldn't stop at just one post. It was soooo hard to choose the best ones to show. So, I decided to show more. These have such a different feel than the shots I posted yesterday, but I love both sets. Best of both worlds- a little fancy, and a little funky. And of course, the senior shoot special is still running . . .
